Inyang Udofot is a Professor of Phonetics and Phonology. She became full Professor on October 1st, 2003. She has served as Dean, Faculty of Arts (2012-2016) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State (2017 to 2019). She was also President of the English Scholars Association of Nigeria (ESAN) and the current Secretary, Board of Trustees, Association of Phoneticians and Phonologists in Nigeria
